Exercise 4 Hip Joint Rotation

Technique:

1. Sit at your child’s feet.

2. Place your right hand on top of his left thigh.

3. With your left hand, grasp his right leg directly below the knee.

4. Raise the right leg with your left hand and gently swing it out to his right side as you flex the knee. Use your right hand to keep his left leg flat on the floor.

5. Moving the knee in an arc, guide it in toward the center of his chest.

6. Move the knee away from the chest in a straight line until the leg is fully extended. Viewed from above, you would see that his right knee had just completed a clockwise circle.
